From 4th to 14th February 2014, Forest Biodiversity Division working group led by Miss Weerana Sompeewong, cooperated with local volunteers and the 1st Forest Defend station (Tha-Pla) staffs. They went to survey and collect data on biodiversity including plants, animals, insects, mushrooms and lichens at Lum Num Nan-Fang-Khwa national forest, Num-Ta village, Num-Mun sub district, Tha-Pla district, Uttaradit.
Two sample plots were used to identify with the plant community characteristic in deciduous forest. In addition, in the operation we collected data of folk wisdoms at Num-Ta village. Later, we made a video about the performance explore and data collection on biodiversity of forest.
On 11st-14th February 2014, Dr. Surang Thienhirun, the director of Forest Biodiversity Division, went to the fieldwork in order to follow-up and give recommendation to the working group. Moreover, we coordinated with Ngern Phengju (Head of Huay-Ja-Learn village) and Taksin Prasarnsri (the director of Ban Jalernrad-uppatham school) to prepare 2 activities. Firstly, encourage the conservation of rare spcies. Secondly, build the awareness of conservation biodiversity which will start in May and June.
